The Customer and Regulations Officer seeks to increase the value and impact the Bureau delivers to Australia's water sector. The Commonwealth Water Partnerships Team is particularly focused on supporting Commonwealth water agencies. They are focused on developing deep and trusted relationships with water sector customers, understanding their pain points and strategic objectives, and deploying the Bureau's capability.

The Customer and Regulations Officer contributes to the administration of the Commonwealth Water Regulations 2008 and national water information standards, supporting the collation of Australia's water information in a way that provides verified value and impact to customers, and develops and maintains productive relationships with data providers. They also contribute to handling customer enquiries while representing the trust and quality associated with the Bureau brand.

The Customer and Regulations Officer is self-motivated and agile. They work collaboratively with diverse teams and can quickly pivot to new tasks and initiatives in response to customer and organisational demand. They thrive in problem solving and on-the-job learning. They are confident communicators and exhibit a willingness to continuously learn new aspects of customers' businesses while keeping abreast of the Bureau's capabilities, products, and services. They develop and maintain strong relationships with experts across the Bureau, to identify opportunities to match Bureau capabilities with customer requirements.

The Customer and Regulations Officer contributes to a wide variety of projects and products that seek to deliver customer outcomes or improve internal processes. They are willing and able to respond to new and varying priorities as they arise.

This role is part of a national team, which leverages digital platforms for collaboration, while building trusted relationships on the ground in every Australian state and territory.
